Game Setup

Board and Decks

  1. Place the board with the chosen season side up.
  2. For the chosen season, shuffle separately:
    • Scene deck
    • Ally cards
    • Item cards
    • Action cards

Token Setup

  1. Separate numbered tokens from Demogorgon tokens.
  2. Shuffle numbered tokens.
  3. Season 1:
    • Take 7 random tokens and shuffle them with the Demogorgon tokens.
    • Place them in the three Rescue Will slots.
    • Place the Demogorgon in the Upside Down school.
    • Place a patrol in Hawkins Castle Byers.
    • Hard difficulty: Also place a patrol in the Upside Down lab.
  4. Place remaining tokens in numbered slots.

Characters and Allies

  1. Draw and place Ally card(s).
  2. Place El on the 1st Act track space.
  3. Choose 2 or more characters. For each:
    • Place miniature in starting location.
    • Take dashboard.
    • Place fear tracker cube.
    • Draw 5 random action cards.

Begin Game

WIN (Season 2): Rescue Will, then Close the Gate.
