Sequence of Play

When playing action cards for any reason, keep track of the number of danger icons revealed.

2. Perform Actions

If in a space with a foe, you may only fight:

If no foe is present, choose from:

Uncontested actions:

Contested actions (beat a stack by playing cards with total value >= stack value):

3. Refill Hand

Draw back up to five action cards. If the action deck is depleted, reshuffle and advance to the next Act.

House rule: Play Acts 1 and 2 twice each. Or consider Acts [1, 1.5], [2, 2.5], [3].

4. Reveal Scene Cards

Reveal scene cards equal to the current Act number plus the number of danger icons revealed this turn (one at a time).

If you draw the End of Day card: stop drawing scenes and reshuffle the scene deck.

Contested Action Reference

Play action cards with a total value greater than or equal to the stack value to succeed.

OutcomeResult
SuccessAction resolves. (House rule: lose fear = action value - stack value.)
FailureGain fear = stack value - action value. Reshuffle stack, remove one token.

Scene Cards

Reveal Act # + danger icons scene cards at end of turn. Danger icons accumulate from all action cards played during the turn.
