Sequence of Play
Phase 1 - Storm Strike
If your hero is in Azyr:
- Respawn at any Storm Strike location that does not already have another hero.
- If that location contains Chaos Champions: roll the Combat Die for each.
Phase 2 - Chaos Activation
- Draw a card from the Chaos Deck.
- If the card shows New Foes: if a Stronghold does not already have a Chaos Champion, draw one from the bag and place it there.
- If the card shows Movement: for each designated Chaos Champion:
- If already in a space with heroes: combat occurs.
- Otherwise: move along arrowed routes. If the champion enters a space with a hero, combat occurs.
Phase 3 - Hero Activation
Stage 1 - Quest (movement and combat):
- Roll the Quest Die to get Quest Points.
- For each Quest Point, you may:
- Move one location (costs 1 Quest Point).
- If entering a space with Chaos Champions: combat occurs (costs 0 Quest Points).
- If you begin the turn in a space with a Chaos Champion: spend Quest Points to move or initiate combat.
Stage 2 - Explore:
- If at Whispering Keep (can only enter if carrying Gateway Shards):
- Place your Gateway Shards.
- Gain 5 Hero Tokens for each shard just placed.
- Return to Azyr.
- Otherwise, if no Chaos Champions are present: take the Quest Card for your current location if one is available.
Stage 3 - Receive Gift of Sigmar:
Spend 3 Hero Tokens to reclaim a discarded Quest Card.
