Map Setup

Lay out the map as shown in the Storybook chapter:

• Map tiles
• Spawn tokens
• Monster miniatures
• Chapter-specific tokens

Storybook Setup

• Set Spawn marker on Spawn List.
• Set Round tracker on Adversary Phase list.
• Tuck monster stat cards under board so the current level is showing.
• Shuffle Chapter cards to create the Search Deck.

Legend Setup

For each Legend:

• Set Legend HP to full.
• Set out player dashboard.
• Equip items, clothing, etc.
• Give action tokens.

Legend-specific setup:

• Emily: Choose a monster type to track.
• Matthias: Begin in LOW attack priority.
• Elijah: Give ward tokens.

Begin Game

Objectives

WIN: Complete the chapter objectives.

LOSE:

• Any Legend gains 10 or more fear.
• Any Legend's health reaches 0.
• The chapter's specific loss conditions are met.

On defeat: reset the chapter and Legends, and reshuffle Chapter cards. Other items and relics may be kept.
