Setup
Dungeon/forest setup
- Place basic Start tile or 3-route Start tile face-up in playing area.
- Place Exit tile aside.
- Shuffle remaining dungeon and/or forest tiles into their separate bags.
Player setup
- Players choose character card, meeple, and 4 matching colored cubes.
- Place meeples on Start tile.
- Set up character cards:
- Cubes on highest HP, AP, and Lives track.
- Set aside fourth cube for monster HP
- OPTIONAL: Choose compatible Upgrade/Destiny Card.
- OPTIONAL: Draw one starting item for each adventurer.
Options
Dragon Scroll: Choose one to modify the gameplay.
Skill Tokens: Can choose to receive skill token instead of item.
- Tag partners automatically gain 1 when monster is defeated.
- Can be spent on upgrades or bonus skills described on the Sequence of Play page.
- REQUIRED when playing Umari. 1 token to cast a spell.
Upgrade/Destiny Cards: Get a set of skills activated by skill tokens earned
from defeating monsters.
- Spend two skill tokens to learn one skill permanently.
- Some adventurers have Upgrade Cards and some have Destiny Cards.
- They work the same way -- can spend 2 skill tokens for 1 destiny shield
