Warp's Edge

How to Play

Sequence of Play

Repeat the following steps until end of warp occurs.

Step 1: Enemy Arrivals

Refill empty slots in enemy row so there are four enemies. If not enough enemies left, refill as many as possible.

Step 2: Pilot Actions

Use tokens from pool to take as many actions as you wish.

ActionSteps
Fire Lasers

Place one laser token below an enemy. It is now stunned and will not attack this turn.

Count total value of laser tokens assigned to the enemy. If total >= hull stat, enemy is destroyed. Gain destroy reward (on left of enemy card) and put tokens into bag.
Discard enemy and any tokens on it

Perform Maneuvers

Place one maneuver token below an enemy. It is now stunned and will not attack this turn.

Count total value of maneuver tokens assigned to the enemy. If total >= speed stat, enemy is evaded. Gain evade reward (on right of enemy card) and put tokens into bag. Discard enemy and any tokens on it

Repair Shields

Discard one energy token. Increase shield meter by token value x 2, up to max.

Use a Power Token

Use one power token for its effect.

Buy Tokens

Discard one or more energy tokens. Gain one or more new tokens from the supply with a cost <= total value of energy discarded.

Activate a Skill
  1. Assign one or more tokens to a skill card.
  2. If skill's requirements are met, it is now activated.
  3. If skill is ongoing, stays active. Otherwise, remove tokens when skill is used. Turn skill card sideways to show that it is exhausted.
  4. Can be used once per warp if cost is paid.
Move Tokens

Can freely move tokens between pool and hold, respecting max hold capacity.

At end of this step, discard any remaining tokens from pool.

Step 3: Enemy Attacks

One at a time, from left to right:

  1. Check to see if enemy has tokens below it. It so, it is stunned. Ignore it completely for now.
  2. If not stunned, take damage = enemy attack value. Reduce shield by 1 for each damage. If shield at 0, reduce hull meter instead.
  3. For each damage dealt to shields, remove one token from discard pile from the game.
  4. Move any tokens from below an enemy to the space above it. (Enemy damaged but no longer stunned.)
  5. If mothership can attack, resolve attack from each section.

Step 4: Pilot Plans

Draw 5 new tokens from bag and add them to your pool. If can't draw 5 because bag is empty, end of warp occurs.

End of Warp:

  1. Return all tokens in play back to the bag. NOT FROM HOLD.
    • Pool
    • Discard
    • Enemies
    • Mothership
    • Skills
  2. Retrieve all cards from row and discard pile. Shuffle them and place face down on enemy deck.
  3. Refresh exhausted skills. Draw two more and choose one to keep.
  4. Advance warp marker.
  5. Refill token pool with five tokens drawn from the bag.
