Each Round: Four Phases
Phase 1 - Launch Attack
Players take turns launching their Active Blast Tokens using the 3D Arcade Shooter.
- Tokens must be launched from behind the striped line at the bottom of the board.
- If a token lands completely in the planet area, it may be re-launched up to three times.
Phase 2 - Resolve Attack
- Invader hit: The Invader card is destroyed and moved to the Score Board. One token can hit multiple Invaders.
- UFO hit: Token lands inside the UFO - move the red Health Tracker down 1 space.
- Shielded Invaders: Token must remain on the card until the shield generator is destroyed first.
- 2-Hit Invaders: Token must remain on the card; a second hit in the same round is required to destroy it.
Phase 3 - Invaders Advance
- Straighten any Invader cards knocked out of alignment.
- Move each Invader forward by the number of spaces shown by the speed icon (1, 2, or 3) in its bottom left corner.
- Invaders that reach the planet area: move the Planet Health Tracker down by the amount shown on the card, then shuffle those cards back into the Invader deck.
Phase 4 - Clean Up
- Refill the top two rows from the Invader deck, filling from right to left.
- Pass the Turn Token to the left.
Last Round and Final Assault
Last Round: If 6 or fewer Invaders remain after refilling, the next round is the "Last Round Before the Final Assault." Invaders move at maximum speed and double their damage, but are destroyed after attacking.
Final Assault: If all Invaders are gone but the UFO remains, each player launches all their Active Tokens at the UFO in turn order. No Player Card powers are used during the Final Assault.
Special Invader Rules
Shields: An Invader with a shield icon protects all orthogonally adjacent cards. Shielded Invaders cannot be destroyed until the shield generator card is removed first.
2+ Hits: This Invader must be hit twice in the same round to be destroyed. The token must remain on the card after the first hit.
Player Card Powers
Each player has three level-tiered cards with unique powers. Examples of power types:
- Bonus shots at the UFO for successful hits.
- Use the Blast Wave Card to hit nearby Invaders even if the token misses.
- Attack Invaders adjacent to your target.
- Re-launch tokens.
- Bypass shield or 2-hit requirements.
- Regain Planet Health on UFO hits.
Powers are not used during the Final Assault.
Blast Token Levels
Tokens are placed on Player Cards by level. Active Tokens are those placed above your cards each round and available to launch. Level 2 and 3 tokens are unlocked as play progresses.
